What inspires you (your work)?
Details and striking colour combinations found
in the natural world inspire me. Dreams, music and walks also play a role in the
designs ideas I decide to explore. My camera roll is full of daily inspiration.
What does your art mean to you?
My art is my small contribution to the world. I enjoy noticing details that other people might not see and bringing those ideas to life through my art. In a way, it also serves as my mediation and therapy.
What materials and techniques do you predominantly use in making your
I prefer drawing either with a pencil, pen and watercolour or using an
iPad to draw digitally.
What has been your favourite artistic experience over the last 12 months?
I would say discovering that creating repeat patterns is my true passion. I spend most of my free time either creating motifs for my next pattern or figuring out my next design and gathering collection ideas
What is your favourite product you’ve had from PWS?
I am excited about them all but maybe most excited to see the apron. I love how the design encompasses the entire product and not just a small part of it.
How did you keep going and stay motivated during the Covid 19
The Covid 19 lockdown actually inspired my work to flourish. With the stress of the pandemic, I found drawing was my escape and my way to deal with the stress in a productive way. In the past year, I have grown as an artist and illustrator and shifted my focus away from being a graphic designer
What are your future plans?
I would love to continue working with companies like PWS who create environmentally friendly products. I also plan to continue learning new techniques, exploring new mediums and being open to new inspiration.
What do you hope to achieve by working collaboratively with PWS?
I hope the partnership between myself and PWS continues to expand. I would love to develop a range of designs that would work as a collection for future products.
Why did you choose to license your artwork with PWS?
I could tell that PWS puts their artists and their environmental processes first. I appreciate the fact that they value their artists and the unique perspective each artist brings to their products.
